This broadside gives an account of a campaign speech given in Kilmarnock by the sitting MP, Edward Bouverie, and attended by his main challenger Edwin Chadwick. Chadwick is not identified by name (he is described only as 'our M.P. expectant') but he is associated with the 'Lib'rals Advanced' who 'Assisted the rowdies in booing' the incumbent. 'Q' also published election poetry in the Kilmarnock Standard newspaper, including another mocking treatment of Chadwick's candidacy, 'The Chadwickites'. This broadside is preserved in a scrapbook compiled by the local publisher and book collector, James McKie, held in the McKie Collection at the Dick Institute, Kilmarnock. No publication details are given but it is possible that it was printed by McKie himself; a typo has been corrected in what appears to be McKie's handwriting.
