This maritime poem commends the pro-reform King on his endeavours. He is portrayed as a guiding light in the storm who will 'break the chains of those opprest' and lead the ship to 'port Reform'. He is also portrayed in the chorus as the 'best o' Kings e'er Britain saw'. This poem previously appeared in The Edinburgh Weekly Chronicle on 07-05-1831; we are told in that paper that the poem was written 'For the Weekly Chronicle'.
