This poem appears in the report of proceedings of the 'Sma' Weft' Club - a liberal, satirical fraternity club in Glasgow.  We are told that this poem is in imitation of Byron's 'Destruction of Sennacherib'.  The poem begins with the Tories stating that Reform is doomed to die, but the 'Angel of Freedom' comes to rouse 'every friend of Reform'.  The poem references other (less liberal) newspapers in the period, the Glasgow Courier and the Glasgow Herald, and states that they are now 'loud in their wail'.  An article on the Sma' Weft Club, which includes this poem, appears on Electric Scotland (URL attached).
