This poem begins by stating that reform is 'resounding from strand to strand'. However, the poem states that all of this is in vain as what is needed is a reformation of the heart and mind: constitutional change cannot improve matters appears to be the argument. A note is included with this poem: 'Stonehaven, 26th July, 1832', presumably where and when the poem was written.
