This poem describes the reform jubilee (presumaly in Aberdeen) where 'Scotland's sons in long array, / Walked forth in freedom and in might'. These jubilees were common throughout Scotland, they were a way of collectively celebrating the passing of the Reform Bill, in the summer of 1832. The poem depicts the clothing worn and banners that were flown on the day, and it is described as a day that will be remembered forever.
