In this 12 stanza broadside poem, Paisley appears in feminine form as 'Mirren', being courted by the three candidates at the 1868 election. She opts for the Tory candidate, Campbell of Blythswood (who was ultimately unsuccessful). Courtship was a familiar trope in election poetry and allowed each candidate to be judged against the other.. Note: Seestu is another name for Paisley. The poem is dated (by hand) October 1868.
